One of the first movies I saw when I first came to the US was Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo, at a drive-in when we were living in Livermore, CA. Since then, there has been a connection between the family, more through my brother, with that gutsy VW Bug with a mind and heart of its contain, that blazed a rush through four movies. Fully Loaded finds the illustrious Bug ready to be turned to scrap metal at Crazy Dave’s scrapyard. He is rescued by Maggie Peyton (Lindsay Lohan), whose family has racing in their blood, as her grandfather’s a racing record. Gradually, she recognizes that Herbie has a soul, as does her school friend Kevin, who runs a garage, and takes a liking to the car. I remember enjoying the unusual films, and was actually looking forward to seeing this film almost as distinguished as my kids were. My only trouble was that I was a exiguous jumpy that the film was going to focus too great on CGI effects and turn Herbie into a goofy version of that poor 70’s cartoon Bustle Buggy. Instead, Disney simply updated all of the large things about the modern. There was very limited expend of the CGI effects, and when done, it’s done well. I have seen a couple reviews that complained that Breckin Meyer, Michael Keaton, Matt Dillon and the other human stars are relegated to minor roles in the film….so what? I wasn’t there to sight a Michael Keaton film, I’m in the theater to scrutinize Herbie kick some butt on the run track, smack people with doors, trunks, hubcaps, spit oil in the awful guys face etc. and that is what I got. Fully Loaded has all of the magic of the current series. This is one of the best Disney live action films to approach out in some time. Long live Herbie!!!!

Bugville is the second re-titling of the 1941 Max Fleischer consuming classic, which has otherwise been known as Hoppity Goes to Town or Mr. Bug Goes to Town, respectively. For the uninitiated, the Fleischer brothers were an animation powerhouse that rivaled Disney at the time–producing cartoon greats like Popeye, Superman and Betty Boop–only to be undone by the extremely abominable timing of this film’s release (several days after Pearl Harbor) . Since the Fleischers were often well-known from their competitors because of their exhaust of human characters in their cartoons, as opposed to the industry standard anthropomorphic animal, I earn it inspiring that the film that forced them out of their beget studio featured anthropomorphic animals.

The quality of this particular DVD is kindly. The recount is definite and the sound is very marvelous, although calm in mono.

As another reviewer indicated, I too almost missed this title because I had heard of and was looking for “Hoppity Goes to Town.” (There was some factual reasons why the name had to be changed.) This is a astounding film. It is a classic and it’s a shame more people don’t know about it.

The Fleischers’ really outdid themselves with this and never quite did so again. In reading up about this release, it was the first engrossing feature not adapted from a work of literature. (Also, the first one to lift area in contemporary times, rather than “long ago and far away.”) More unique feature cartoons such as Ants and Bugs were clearly influenced by this fantastic tale. If this had originally been released a month sooner, I gain it would’ve been as well known as Disney’s Snow White, and maybe better, since it’s an modern yarn. It’s a shame it was never re-released to the theaters in the leisurely 40’s or released in video decades ago so that during the Fleischers’ lifetimes, they would’ve been properly recognized for this extraordinary production. Highly recommended for the whole family!

For a lot of fans of stand-up comedy when you hear that Katt Williams is coming out with a fresh DVD you win quite mad. In fact, if you’re fair a Katt Williams fan and not so stout on other comedians the view of a recent Katt Williams video is awesome. But this particular DVD isn’t exactly “current” if you’ve seen a lot of Katt Williams’s material. In fact the footage is remarkable older then some of his previous entries. The material is simply recycled with other footage off the stage.

Don’t win me atrocious. The material in the video is extremely droll, but if you already have “Katt Williams Live” DVD(which is also on Netflix online streaming) you do not need to grasp up this DVD unless you need to gain everything Katt Williams. Of course every comedian uses material over again. But the jokes have “all” been heard before(a few slightly altered) . Not to mention the crowd from Cincinnati in “Katt Williams Live” is remarkable better then the crowd from Washington DC in this video.

The concept that some guy in the crowd notion a peripheral was a car is laughable, not to mention the joke seems improvised. Not this time around.

When I first heard about Katt Williams, I had to bag more of his comedy. After Watching “It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin” I was delighted to eye there was another DVD out..I paid for his “Katt Williams Live” DVD only to be disappointed with hearing the same jokes. Ok Katt, I know comedians rehash the same jokes, so you pick up a free pass with the extinct DVD. Broad marketing..you got me, but then I’m in Best Pick, and I contemplate another DVD out! I gain mad. The conception of Katt Willias rehashing the SAME JOKES never even entered my mind! I catch the DVD, tidy the house while my girl makes dinner, we shower, and pop the DVD in…all wrathful to peep this unusual “Pimpadelic” DVD…

I’m sorry to say, he did it again. No, not with another stellar performance, THESE ARE THE SAME COMEDY ACTS!!! There are a few modern jokes here and there, but not enough to elaborate buying this DVD. I fell asleep on it, and feel really cheated! Who releases THREE dvd’s with the same acts??? You mean to jabber me he couldn’t reflect of anything humorous in the last few years??? The days of accurate comedians is LONG GONE! I really view Katt had the potential to be one of the funniest comedians in HISTORY, but not anymore. He doesn’t have enough fuel to compete with guys like Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Paul Mooney, etc…he objective doesn’t have it. He’s the type of dude to have a “really fine” Yo Mama joke, and recount it 100 times a day, 7 days a week for YEARS!

I dunno if he conception this was sterling marketing, but its 2009, and terrible news spreads faster then superior news. Personally, if he releases another DVD, I’m buying it from the bootleg man. Sorry bruh..you have to give me something free now for all the unnecessary money I’ve spent on you!

Stephen King’s “Storm of the Century” is a salubrious flick. Yet many King fans will attempt to associate it or transpose this work – don’t bother. This movie is NOT based on any of his, or Bachman, books. Instead, this is King’s evolvolution into a a very visual movie producer attempting to unbind himself from his book writing persona. He accomplishes this substantial task in “Storm of the Century.”

Based on a Maine island preparing for the snow storm of the century in 1989, the movie is based on a stranger, Andre Linoge, who kills a elderly woman for no evident reason. Then, he escalates into a bizarre ghastly force that captivates a runt Maine island whos occupants have a hard time dealing with the truth. Mr. Linoge seems to know every wrong act committed by the island’s occupants: cheating, lying, bodily wound, and adultery. Instead, they seem oddly comfortable living in denial. “Give Me What I Want And I Will Leave” is the ongoing testement for Mr. Linoge. His methodology for death, with the assist of his murderous cane, is often pointless and grotesque at times. The significance of this cane is never mentioned. Yet I was very overjoyed and quite surprised by Mr. King’s ability to effect his characters so deeply. The Constable, played by Tim Daly, is wonderfully acted and developed. In “Storm,” viewers snappily become familiar with the many Islanders only after the first hour. The melancholy plight is that King doesn’t compose the antagonist, Andre Linoge (large acting by Colm Feore!), no where nearly as some would have liked. Instead, throughout half of “Storm,” you’ll accumulate Linoge’s character sits and stares. When Linoge does verbalize, it shows wasted time on and underdeveloped character.

The ending is both radiant yet a letdown. Mr. Linoge’s whole intent seems overkill while the Islanders reactions often understated. I deem viewers will either admire or disapprove it. Either procedure, viewers will appreciate the exquisite scenery, bright photography, and bright charecters in “Storm of the Century.”

This was absolutely the best thing on television in 1999. Stephen King’s best mini-series since the adaptation of The Stand. King’s portrayal of a terminate knit, secret enshrouded Maine town has become one of his trademarks. Not since Salem’s Lot has a King created town been host to such a palatable contemptible. I was truly fascinated by Colm Feore as the supernatural villain who only asks that the town gives him what he wants. And what he wants no one should ever give willingly. This was one of those “I can’t maintain that unprejudiced happened” type of movies. The fact that a film of such devious quality was made for television is again a testament to Stephen King’s appeal. Half the stuff in this movie I was surprised even passed the censors. But boy was I contented it did. My only disappointment was that King didn’t turn this into a book. The screenplay is unbelievable but a companion modern would have been such sweet frosting. This movie is a confirmation that Stephen King hasn’t gone soft with age, he’s only gotten better. Like a attractive wine or more appropriately a can of beer.

This is a spacious plot but it’s mistitled – there are plenty of comedy QUEENS on this place, in fact in a number of the films the female star has the main section. A what a bunch of comic ladies – Eve Arden, Ginger Rogers, Carole Lombard, Betty Hutton, Irene Ryan, Joan Davis, Rosalind Russell, Lupe Velez, Marie Wilson, ZaSu Pitts, Gale Storm, Helen Broderick, Frances Baiver, Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Constance Collier, etc etc as well as such legendary female stars as Lillian Gish, Irene Dunne, Dorothy Lamour, Myrna Loy, Joan Bennett, Danielle Darrieux, Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters, Laura La Plante, Ann Harding… the list goes on.

Many of these titles are hard to get, a lot are available as single movies from Alpha but this 50 movie station will probably cost you less than three single Alpha titles and the print quality is usually not of worthy contrast.

The most tantalizing titles in the space are THE RAGE OF PARIS, a delicious American screwball film starring French diva Danielle Darrieux, a rare starring film for Eve Arden THREE HUSBANDS, Lillian Gish in one of her few early talkies HIS DOUBLE LIFE, restful greats Laura La Plante, Esther Ralston, and Patsy Ruth Miller in the fantastic talkie comedy LONELY WIVES; the incredibly sexy young Myrna Loy vs. liberated Ann Harding in THE ANIMAL KINGDOM, the extraordinary but astounding teaming of Rosalind Russell and Marie Wilson in NEVER WAVE AT A WAC, plus a bunch of “B” rarities with such underrated talent as Ann Rutherford, Anne Nagel, Joan Caufield, Isabell Jewell, Betty Compson, Anita Louise, Mary Carlisle, Evelyn Knapp, Marjorie Gateson, Joyce Compton, Verree Teasdale, Ruth Hussey, Ruth Warrick, and Mary Brian. There’s also a number of undeniable classic motion pictures such as THE KID, LIFE WITH FATHER, and ROAD TO BALI.

This is a really enormous situation but I reflect you will agree after watching many of these films the region was mistitled. These actresses more than bear their gain against the menfolk.

The editorial review is completely in error. This is not the broadcast TV Series of Sakura Wars. This DVD contains the first 3 episodes of OVA 2 (anime made directly for the video market) .

These episodes focus on the characters of the TV series in greater detail, exploring their lives, personalities and histories in a series of one-offs. For example, the first episode focuses on Maria and Sakura, the second on Iris and Reni. The third episode is a rich treat that features the whole cast in a dramatic “terror” anecdote.

Unfortunately, American audiences are not getting the paunchy scope of this aesthetic series, because the 25 TV episodes are not available on DVD yet. I was fortunate enough to have seen it in a different country, and all the principal character introduction, development, action, etc. was established in the TV series.
